This bird serves as a symbol of happiness, joy, freedom, and a connection between heaven and earth. It measures 5/8 of an inch wide and is carrying a pear shaped white sapphire in its mouth. It hangs from an 18-inch Italian chain which comes with 2 small adjustable rings so that it may be shortened to a women's 16-inch or children's 14-inch length, if desired. Both the bird and chain are made of sterling silver and plated in 18K gold.
